Preparing For Easter
/As the years have come and gone, Easter has become my most favorite holiday. Yes, even more than Christmas! Did you know the word holiday comes from the old English word for holy day? And Easter is one of the most important Holy Days of the year! I love how the Earth is beginning to wake up after a long dreary winter. I love how the days are getting longer, and the sun shines more each day!!! I love to decorate with things that help bring the spirit into our home. No matter what Christian religion you may be, striving to make God, and Jesus the center of our lives brings LIGHT, peace, calm and hope! Easter is early this year, March 31st.
Easter bunnies and eggs are fun traditions and I have those too, however, the real focus of the holiday is religious. Easter is a celebration of the promise of eternal life through Christ. It is the Christian holiday celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. After He died on the cross, His body was placed in a sepulcher, or tomb, where it remained for three days, until His Resurrection. His spirit and body were then reunited. Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, all people will be resurrected.
I follow many different religious sites on Instagram, and “Multiply Goodness” is one of them. The focus of “Multiply Goodness” is to bring women of all faiths together to make new friends, enjoy worship, and study the Bible together. They have in person gatherings throughout the year, and encourage scripture study in small groups as well.
Last year they shared a small printable family study for Holy Week – the week leading up to Easter Sunday. One of the things that drew me to this particular study was the stunning old world artwork depicting the last week of the Savior’s life here on earth, and the simplicity of the daily activities.
I loved it so much, I left them taped to the glass cupboard doors in our kitchen all year long! I have enjoyed looking at them every day for the past year!!! This year, they produced a free-standing booklet in a slightly bigger version. The first printing of this booklet sold out in ten days! The second printing is selling quickly as well, but won’t ship until the 18th. Regular price is $30, however they are on sale right now for $24. So if you’re interested, you’ll want to click on the link below and place your order before they sell out.

The following is from the Multiply Goodness website explaining what the booklet is and how it works.
“Holy Week—the story of the days leading up to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ— is considered the lead up to Easter, the “high holiday" for Christianity and the crux of the story of the Gospel. To help you experience the stories of Holy Week in a meaningful way, we’ve created this beautiful tabletop resource for you to use in your homes and bring more of the Savior into this sacred season. Whether you live alone, with roommates, with young children, or elderly parents, there is something here for everyone.
In this flip-top resource, we have included readings from the Gospel narratives and simple reflection questions for you to ponder each day. Don’t worry about adapting an adult question or a five year old, we’ve done the work for you. We’ve included thoughtful reflection questions that are appropriate for different age groups — young children, older children and teens, and adults.
Feel free to alter or adapt this to fit your style, schedule, or the ages of your kids. Don’t have time to do an activity each day? That’s okay. Want to do even more? Go right ahead & consider this a starting point! The goal with this resource is that you would experience the story and miracle of Easter with those you love, no matter your age or station in life.
Filled with traditional, well-loved artwork depicting the events of Holy Week, this is a beautiful product resource you will want to share with your families and have anywhere in your home to feel more of the Savior's love for you during this holy season.
Holy Week runs from March 24th to March 30th. Easter arrives on March 31st.”
I hope you are excited to bring the LIGHT and life of the Savior into your own homes this month. Let’s not let Easter be just one day! Let’s find ways to worship Him each and every day!!!
Love Ya, Les :)
