Melamine Batter Bowl – World Market

Another one of my favorite things are these amazing melamine batter bowls from “World Market”. They have a rubber gasket on the bottom to keep them from sliding around on your counter top, they are dishwasher safe (at least in my dishwasher they are), and the size is just about perfect for anything I need to mix up.

They also come in some fun different colors throughout the year. My personal favorite is the mint green, but I’ve only seen that one time. There is a beautiful light turquoise blue one right now, but I’ve also seen pink, white, turquoise, yellow and red – just depends on the time of year. The inside is always white, so the two-tone color scheme is fun! I like to use the World Market coupons I signed up to receive on my phone. They are normally reasonably priced at $12.99, but with your coupon they are even less! I just used my birthday coupon to stock up on some for gifts in 2021!

I like to fill mine with a little contrasting colored crinkled paper in the bottom, add a fun recipe box from “Rifle Paper” filled with my most favorite family recipes, a “Better Batter Whisk – made by Tovolo” ordered from Amazon, wrapped in clear cellophane and be-ribboned with a cute hand-made tag. If you want to go all out, make a hand-made apron in coordinating colors to match! These batter bowls make the perfect gift for a graduating senior going away to college, a newlywed, Mother’s Day, birthdays, or even just to bring a smile to your best friend’s face!

I’m including a recipe for my family’s favorite cake. I love to use my World Market batter bowl to mix this recipe up in!!! It’s quick, easy, and the pan is always empty by the time everyone leaves to go home. Because we have to be lactose free, I use milk substitutes. I’ve found these actually taste better than the real thing, which is not generally the case, but this time it is!
