Support Your Local Small Business
/I love supporting local small businesses. It’s getting harder and harder for small businesses to keep the doors open with the cost of supplies, overhead, staffing issues, and so many people purchasing most things online these days.
Today, I want to tell you about two new places I’ve recently discovered. The first one is “Miya’s Market”. They are a Japanese American owned farmer’s market located at 84 South 1000 West in Clearfield, Utah 84015. If you are looking for the best quality seasonal fruits and vegetables, and kind people, you’ll find them here! They have all the standards, but also offer many unique and heirloom varieties of fruits and vegetables. And don’t forget to get some of their most delicious baked goods! Ron and I tried the Snickerdoodle and Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies and they were the perfect blend of soft, chewy goodness with just the right amount of spices. I want to go back and get some sourdough bread next time.
We also tried one of the pink pineapples they have in stock right now. It was the perfect blend of sweet and tangy but not too tart.
I felt bad I missed the Densuke Japanese watermelons they had a couple weeks ago, I will be watching for those next summer for sure! I haven’t had a nectarine as perfect as the ones I bought there in years! I can’t believe I haven’t found this place before now, it is only 15 minutes from my home! I’ll be making more visits for sure, and I hope you do too!
The second business I want to tell you about is “Amor Vines” out of Salt Lake City, Utah. I found them at “Swiss Days” in Midway, Utah last year and again this year. They have the most delicious and refreshing non-alcoholic grape juice you’ve ever tasted!
What is so special about their juice? It is pure not-from-concentrate, minimally processed juice. It is not concentrated, reconstituted, and has no added sweeteners. They offer three different varieties – Concord (purple), Rose’ (pink), and Chardonnay (white).
Ron and I like the Rose’ the best. It’s just the right amount of sweet and tangy all at the same time. You can order their juices online at WWW.AMORVINES.COM
These juices are best served well chilled, and are perfect for any special gathering or as a gift – Christmas is coming, and these would make the perfect unique gift for those special people who are hard to buy for!
Supporting businesses like these brings double blessings of LIGHT to them and to anyone eating or drinking their products! If you’re in the area, go check out “Miya’s Market” in Clearfield, and think about ordering some grape juice for the upcoming holidays from “Amor Vines”. I’d also love it if you shared in the comments some of your favorite local businesses!! Let’s share the LIGHT and the love for these hard working families who are out there trying to live the American Dream!
Have a great week, and don’t forget to shop local when you can!
Love Ya, Les :)
