Twinklebeds Mattresses

After our kids moved out and took their beds with them, our guest bedroom has not had a proper bed for many years.  The past couple of years I’ve been trying to complete the furnishings in our home as we are now going into our 18th year here, which I still can’t believe!  I’m a firm believer in buying quality items that will last instead of the quick inexpensive purchase that you think will be temporary, but end up lasting much longer than you ever planned.  I also refuse to buy anything for our home that I don’t absolutely love.  So, it’s taken me awhile to finish up the last items on the list.

When we built our home, we purposely planned for the bedroom downstairs to be a large guest room eventually.  It has a small, cozy sectional, big screen TV, and a walk-in closet.  I’m excited to be closer to the completion of this room!  The only things left are some things to hang on the walls.

We have been fans of our Purple Mattress for many years now, and we actually still love it.  However, our friends Dave and Heidi are the owners of “Twinklebeds” mattresses in Bountiful, Utah. https://www.twinklebeds.com I recently had a long-time friend coming to stay for a week and decided it was time to get a decent bed put together.  Working with Heidi, Dave and their helpful employees was a great experience.  They invited us down to try out all the queen-size mattresses they offer. We went with the Comfort Luxe Medium, which is their most popular.  https://www.twinklebeds.com/products/twinkle-comfort-luxe-mattress?variant=40408108236953

We also purchased a “Dreamcool Mattress Protector” waterproof mattress pad cover, https://www.twinklebeds.com/products/dreamcool-mattress-protector?variant=42807797153945  two “Twinkle Adjustable Pillows” https://www.twinklebeds.com/products/twinkle-adjustable-pillow and a set of “Dreamchill enhanced Bamboo Bed Sheets” in the sage color. https://www.twinklebeds.com/products/bamboo-sheet-set?variant=44386116075673 Every one of these items are lovely, and so comfy and inviting!  We’re so happy with how it all turned out!  The mattress protector and bed sheets have an additional set of elastic straps that not only help them stay put but also indicate the top and bottom of where they go on the bed!  This is genius!

Dave and Heidi made it so easy for us to choose the mattress and accessories in a one-stop shopping trip, and we opted to have them deliver it as well.

Being a bit tight on lengthwise space, we decided to go with a basic heavy-duty metal frame that Dave suggested for us on Amazon.  We went with the 14” height, and loved that it didn’t require a box spring.  It’s also built to handle the weight of the mattress. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BCFHTZSV?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1  As much as I wanted to add a darling headboard, I didn’t want to have the bed inhibit the doorway to the walk-in closet.

I found the perfect solution with a “Headboard Pillow” also on Amazon and was quite pleased with the color and quality.  The fabric is much nicer than I expected. This pillow fits across the head of the bed perfectly, is comfortable to lean up against while sitting up in bed, has side pockets for your cell phone, and has a washable, removable cover. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09H25L595?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

I don’t like to see the bedframe and found this elastic dust ruffle in ecru with fringe to match the curtains in the room.  It seemed like a good idea not to have a piece of fabric under the mattress because those slide around and the dust ruffle never hangs straight.  However, the elastic doesn’t like to stay put either.  I may end up using adhesive Velcro on the bed frame and re-making the dust ruffle to attach to it with a sew-on Velcro.  This way, it will stay put and not move.  But that’s a project for another day.  As it is now, it got us by for the recent stay of our guest. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CKQT6BQJ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

I’ve had the bedspread and pillow shams for a while now.  I love supporting women owned companies.  “Oddbird Co.” was established in late 2015 by Ceren Alkac-Lee (pronounced Jeren), A Turkish native, wife and mother to five who now resides in Los Angeles.  Their products are made from 100% natural fibers, with a focus on sustainability.  The bedding I chose is mindfully woven in small batches from the highest quality Turkish cottons.  These luxuriously weighted Kilim 4-ply gauze blankets feature dynamic textures and patterns to keep you cozy.  The size was not quite right for my queen-sized mattress, however after turning the blanket the other direction, it did fit the bed better.  By doing this, there is some empty space at the top of the bed, but the headboard pillow, and pillows covered this nicely.  Oddbird is in the process of re-sizing their blankets to better fit Queen and King sized beds.  Because of this, I was able to purchase the blanket I got on a great sale.  I didn’t mind the size thing too much as it also shows off the beautiful bamboo sheets from “Twinklebeds.”   https://www.oddbirdco.com/collections/blankets?srsltid=AfmBOoolkYsxBeO6NV78hfVAlp_IiarG_PrxmOXszRJzjyMUbEPO5WAy

I placed a tin of my favorite “Chewy Peps Handcrafted Premium Old-Fashioned Candy” mint candies on the nightstand as a welcome gift for our guest, and a bedside glass carafe and cup/lid filled with fresh water each evening. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LQXQ4FF?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

I love how our guest room is finally coming together, especially with the help of Dave and Heidi at “Twinklebeds,” you won’t find kinder people or better customer service.  Sleep is something I don’t get much of, however, even if I’m awake it’s nice to be comfortable, warm and cozy!  Feeling relaxed and rejuvenated brings LIGHT into our lives after a good night’s rest.

If you’re looking for a new mattress for any reason, be sure to check out “Twinklebeds” – you won’t regret it.  Did I mention every mattress is made in the U.S.A. and has a 20 year warranty?  I hope you have a great LIGHT filled week, and get the rest you need!

Love Ya, Les 😊
