Growing Where We Are Planted
/Have you ever had one of those weeks where it’s hard to see the LIGHT? It’s been one of those weeks for me. I know everything will be ok, life is good, and I’m extremely blessed. Life at times is just heavy. Today as I was running some errands, I stopped at a home in my neighborhood to drop something off. As I walked up the sidewalk to the door, I saw a beautiful white flower growing right out of a tiny crack in the cement. It was as if the Lord placed in there to give me some perspective and some much needed LIGHT! The sight of it stopped me in my tracks. I took the time to bend down and look at it, admiring its courageous beauty. I made the delivery and started walking back to my car. This tiny little flower deserved a moment of its own. I turned around and took a picture of that strong little flower that had brightened my day, made me smile, and gave me LIGHT and HOPE!
I came home and looked up some quotes about flowers growing through cracks in the cement. I found some good ones and wanted to share them with you. I hope these help to bring LIGHT into your life, and a newfound resilience to know that everything is going to be ok. It might not be right now, but at some point it will be, we just need to keep growing where we are planted.
I hope you have a LIGHT filled summer, and be sure to take time to smell the flowers . . . especially if they are growing through a crack in the cement.
Love Ya, Les ☺
