Crafting with Grandma Les
/One of my favorite things is hanging out with my grandkids!!! One of their favorite things to do at Grandma Les’ house is crafting!!!
I have a plastic bin in my linen closet filled with bits and pieces left over from my many and unending projects. Whatever is in the bin is free game for whoever gets it first.
Sunday we had our third Sunday dinner where usually all the kids and grands come to eat, play games, and just be together. Sadly this past Sunday, two of the three kids and their families couldn’t make it for one reason or another.
We still got together with Steph’s family, and had a delicious dinner with lots of leftovers because we had planned enough for everyone to come.
After dinner, the girls wanted to craft. They pulled the craft bin out, and started working on projects. These projects soon turned into a bigger, better, and more organized project. They all wanted to make a little arrangement using faux succulents. Amazingly enough… I had enough little terra cotta clay pots, faux succulents, floral styrofoam, and preserved moss for each of them to make there own little arrangement.
We had a short lesson on the basic guidelines of flower arranging, and then they each created their own uniquely different arrangement.
I absolutely LOVE watching them create things of beauty, as they uncover and discover, their own God-given hidden talents and abilities! This brings so much LIGHT into my life, watching their eyes sparkle, and their lights shine through their creations!!!!
We are each blessed with different talents and abilities from our Heavenly Father before we are born! And it is our responsibility to seek, search for, and discover them on our earthly journey! Then use them to beautify and share with those we come in contact with!!!!
Look for ways to create and share LIGHT this week!!! It doesn’t have to be a craft project, it can be any one of your strengths. Maybe you are a great band-aid put-er/on-er! Or maybe you are the best book reader before bed-time! Or the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich maker! Whatever it is, share it, and watch the world around you grow brighter and happier.
Have a great week!
Love Ya, Les :)
