My Favorite Mints!
/From the time I was little, I have loved things that make my mouth feel fresh and clean. I remember sneaking “Wrigley’s Doublemint” Gum from my mother’s purse. She always tore each foil wrapped stick in half, but I preferred a whole piece. My favorite, Aunt Leone, always had fruit flavored “Certs” in her purse, and I could crunch an entire roll of those in no time at all - and she often let me do just that!!! As I grew older, my favorite gum of choice became “Extra” – Spearmint or Wintergreen flavored gum.
A few years ago I moved from gum to mints after my dentist said I had TMJ. “Altoids” are a little too strong or “spicy” as my grandkids call them. “Ice-Makers” are nice, especially the “Candy Cane” flavored ones that come out at Christmas time. “Mentos” are also a favorite, however I only like them if they are the perfect softness as many times they are too hard to chew. “Chowards” has a violet flavored mint that I love!!!! You can get those online or at “World Market”.
A few years ago I saw an ad online advertising a mint that lasted for THREE hours or more depending on where you place it in your mouth, is sweetened with Xylitol (which is actually good for your teeth) instead of sugar, and comes in a few different flavors. My husband Ron likes the peppermint pellet shape, and I like the spearmint wafer shape. If your order direct from the company, you can get four containers for the price of three! Yes they are a bit pricey, 100 for $29.95, but when you see how long they last, the cost is actually less than regular mints I feel. Especially when you consider that rarely do you just end up buying mints or gum at the store. More items end up in my cart than just mints or gum if that is the only reason I’m going to the store. So go check them out at www.4evermints.com
Be sure to read the instructions on the 4evermints website on how to use these. You don’t suck or chew them like a normal mint. You put it in your mouth and get it wet, then with your tongue slide it up between your gum and check in the back of your mouth by your molars. When it’s wet enough, it will stay stuck there until it’s gone. The less you play with it with your tongue, the longer the tiny mint will last.
As I’ve gotten older and my body seems to be drying up like a prune, my mouth has done the same. I was having issues waking up with a totally dry mouth. I did some research and started putting a 4evermint in my mouth at bedtime. Not only is it still there in the morning, but I wake up with fresh breath! Ron wears a C-pap machine and has issues with a dry mouth as well. Since he has started using a 4evermint each night, he too has had better results through the night. I know this may sound strange, but when my mouth feels clean and fresh, that brings LIGHT into my life!!!
So try them out! They may just become your favorite as well!!! Have a great day!!!
Love Ya, Les :)
