Music That Makes You Feel Good
/So much of the music today is filled with hidden messages and inappropriate language. When I hear this type of music it makes me feel yucky inside. When I was in London almost two years ago now, I heard of a lovely woman named Harriet who sounded just like Karen Carpenter!
Admitting this will give away my age, but I’ve always believed Karen’s music is timeless. I also love how many of our teens and young adults are Harriet fans!
I have wanted to go to one of Harriet’s concerts in person but sadly haven’t been able to make it back to the U.K. yet. However, a couple months ago, I was thrilled when I saw a post on Instagram announcing that she was coming to the U.S. for a tour and her first stop would be Salt Lake City!
I jumped online as soon as tickets became available. Evidently, I’m not the only one here in the U.S. who enjoys this type of music. Harriet had initially scheduled two shows in Salt Lake City, but they sold out so quickly that she added another one. We got great tickets for the second night of her show, which we enjoyed thoroughly.
This concert was held at the newly renovated Murray Theater, and it was an enjoyable evening!
We went with longtime friends who also enjoy music from the 1970’s. You can find Harriet’s music on most of your favorite music platforms.
And you can also follow her on Instagram @HarrietSings. She has a few more shows here in the U.S.A. before going home to more shows through the end of the year in the U.K.
Harriet is not only a lovely singer but is beautiful inside and out. I hope you get a chance to listen to her LIGHT filled music.
My wish for you this week is to find something that brings LIGHT into your days! Pull out some music that you love but haven’t listened to in a while and play it as you go about your day. It’s a proven fact that music is a powerful tool to brighten your day by reducing stress hormones, boosting mood-enhancing neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin, and fostering emotional regulation. Music helps to alleviate anxiety and enhance daily energy.
Give Harriet a listen and you might just be humming Karen Carpenter tunes in your head for weeks to come! Not such a bad thing to “Sing! Sing A Song!”
Have a great week! Love Ya, Les 😊
