/I honestly can’t believe next week will be our 200th blog post! Thank you for following along on our journey to bring more LIGHT into the world! I love the feeling of LIGHT in my life, in addition to things that encourage kindness, hope and joy. We may not have thousands of followers here, but those of you that come back each week are not only my dear friends, but also followers and givers of LIGHT! Thank You for all you are doing to LIGHT the world with love and kindness!
I’ve mentioned this before, one of my favorite things to do is read! From the time I can remember, reading has been an escape for me. I especially like to read at night when I can’t sleep – which is almost every night. 😊 I have a stack of books next to our bed. I enjoy many different types of books, but historical fiction is my favorite. A wise man once told me - “The best way for someone to remember what you teach, is to tell a story, teach a principle.” I retain so much more from books that tell a story in a historical setting. I hope this post LIGHTS a fire within your heart to pick up a book and read it! If you’re not sure what to read, this giveaway gives you a few ideas of a place to start. I’m pretty picky about what I read as well as watch on TV and in the theater. I like to fill my mind with clean material. I refuse to read or watch anything remotely sleezy. If I recommend a book or a movie, you can be sure it’s appropriate!

· “The Prayer Box” by Lisa Wingate – The first book in a series of three. If you like this one, you will want to read the second and third book as well.
· “The Quilter’s Apprentice” by Jennifer Chiaverini – The first book in a series of 23. Book 24 was just recently announced to be released in April of 2026. I read this entire series during Covid, and loved every single book! I wish Elm Creek Manor were a real place! I would attend one of their retreats for sure!
· “The Hiding Place” by Corrie Ten Boom – The respect and admiration I have for this woman is beyond words! Her courage, determination, and Faith in God is miraculous. She was never bitter, and lived her life filled with love and kindness in spite of unspeakable loss and pain.
Books bring LIGHT into my soul, and I hope they do the same for you! My wish for you this week is to start a book you’ve been wanting to read for a while. You could also share this experience with a friend by ordering two books and discussing it with your bestie as you read and learn together! Fill your mug with your favorite beverage, snuggle up in your favorite blanket, turn the fire on, and settle in for a lovely reading session. I chose to do everything green not only because it’s my favorite color, but also because it is calming, and who doesn’t need more calm in their life?
