Swiss Days – A Utah Legacy

For many years it’s been a yearly tradition to go to Swiss Days.  Midway Swiss Days began in 1947 as a local “Harvest Days” celebration, evolving to honor the town’s Swiss and German immigrant heritage.  The quaint tiny town of Midway was settled in the late 1850’s by Swiss immigrants, and the surrounding mountainous area resembles the Swiss Alps.

Swiss Days is held annually on the Friday and Saturday of Labor Day weekend and draws tens of thousands to experience Swiss and German food, crafts, a parade, and entertainment hosted by the local community.

As a family, we did a booth at Swiss Days for many years.  Ron would come and help me get the booth set up the day before, and then he would go back with the kids to stay at The Homestead Resort.

The Homestead properties have recently been refurbished and are a magical place with numerous fresh spring water pools.

If you’re looking for a great day with a friend, head up to Swiss Days in Midway, Utah this Friday or Saturday.  My wish for you this weekend is to enjoy one last summer weekend in the mountains of Utah.  So grab and friend and head up to Midway.

Love Ya, Les 😊
